Please meet Charley the latest girl to need help from Z.R.R , Charley came to our rescue after her owner had contacted a few of the "big and more well known organisations" who all said they could not help because of her problems and advised to have her destroyed as no one would want her . So Z.R.R was contacted and as has happened so many times over the years we stepped in and decided to help Charley and her owner in their hour of need . So off I went to the other side of the country to meet and bring Charley back with me into our care .

Ok what are our Charley's problems for years Charley has had epilepsy and she has had to have her cruciate ligament done . So this girl has given years of love and companionship to her owner but through no fault of either theirs or Charley's they needed help . Charley realy is a darling a very loving and gentle dog who just needs a nice quite life in her older years . Charley is happy with her life and copes well with her problem she is on medication daily which keeps her epilepsy at bay . Charley has been seen by our vets and apart from her epilepsy she is in good condition fit and happy and happy to be alive .

foot note
Most epileptic dogs can have a normal, happy, long life. In some cases it may be possible to wean a dog off treatment. However, do not alter treatment without consultation with your veterinary surgeon.

 8 year old Star's story

Star came into us here at Z.R.R through a marital split ,when she came to us she was massively over weight 60 + kilo's , but it soon became obvious to us that all was not quite right with her , so it was off to the vets we go after some tests and a scan it was found that Star had a tumour so again this year we found ourselves with a dog that needed extensive surgery . But this was not going to be easy Star is much to over weight but needed this op stright away , so after a quick chat with our vets the decision was made to op that day . Well even the James who done the op could not believe when he opened Star up what he found , a tumour the size of a football it was so big when they showed it to me the vets nurse had to carry it in a washing up bowl the tumor was attached to her splien whic was also removed , Star is making a good recovery . but again it amazes me how resiliant these dogs are .
Again I have to thank Pete and James and all at croft vets for looking after all our dogs so well

starafter op

Well Star is making a good recovery ,here she is pictured with Molly and Fagan who are helping her on her road to recovery , Star is now able to go for short walks and is a good few pounds lighter. Star is a lot more comfortable with in herself ,and seems to be enjoying life once again . We had samples sent away and the results that came back were quite good , but you never know in situations like these ,so for now its just a case of looking after Star and making sure she is comfortable in her old age and making sure she gets all the fuss and treats she deserves which im sure Carey and Dave her foster home will make sure of .

Please meet 5yr old Dane Pic to follow

Well what can I say about Dane if you can imagine a 5 yr old dog who has not seen the outside world before , everything is new and exciting he is just a big lad with the brain of a puppy , lacks a lot of social manners , Dane came to us here at Z.R,R and he has a couple of problems a flee allergy so his back was a bit red and sore and his hair was a bit thin near his tail . But his main problem is entropian on his lower lids so he is now getting this done . along with treating his back he realy does look a sorry sight at the moment .
